Happy New Year!

We hung with friends, i stole nora to play with nora and have a sleepover, we ate, drank and i fell off a chair. I didnt drink too much i swear- im just a klutz.

Annnnnyyywhooooo----

New year. New starts. New adventures. 

A year in review:

- this was my first year in 5 not pregnant or breast-feeding for a full year. Weird. Kind of bittersweet and also refreshing.

- b is fully potty-trained aka we have no diapers in this house!

- nora is in her last year of preschool (say what?!?) and bridget is in her first year.

- we went to florida to see g-ram and ron and to disney world, to denver, a couple chicago trips, green bay and me mich and mold had our annual girls trip in baltimore to celebrate the birth of mollys son patrick.

- p turned 40 and me and meghan threw him a surprise party that he was actually surprised at.

- i started ramping up my business and am continuing to stay busy in the start of 2014

- my sis found out she is having a girl and i cannot express how freaking excited i am!!

Yay to the new year and the adventures it will bring. 

And now for my advice of 2014:

- be present (get off the freaking iphone)

- be real.

- as my pop pop says- everything in moderation

- and my fav...when you are tired- work out. When you dont want to- work out. When you want to lay on the couch and eat chips- work out. (And then lay) just move- you will be glad you did.

Road trip

Took a road trip to Green Bay for the holidays! We left at 4am and got in around 4:30pm. We took our time and stopped a few times. The kids did great- thanks McDonalds play area!

Happy face train

We took out annual trip to the happy face train and a visit with santa (i think our 5th of the season) cant get enough of santa! Good times at pretty union station. While i had to scrape up change in my car to pay for parking and pull over on southwest blvd to let bridge take a number 2- we always love a fun trip 'downtown'

Marketing

I love clever marketing. I love clever advertising and cute jingles. I still sing i am stuck on bandaid brand because band aids stuck on me randomly.

Anywho- so it was tres hilarious today when i put new toliet paper in the bathroom and nora says:

"Is this charmin ultra strong?"

"No," i say 'its angel soft'

"Oh. Well you know charmin is so strong it can hold money?"

Omg. At least it was a toliet paper commercial brainwashing her (for now) and not the latest bigest my little pony petshop mega castle supreme.

Black Friday

No posting lately because i am drowning with p traveling and trying to keep up with the holiday traditions, shopping, light sight-seeing, trying to keep the focus on the advent season since like it is the reason for it all- oh and moving the dang elf. And trying not to overeat. And work it off when i do. But im not overeating bc of yummy food- more stress related. Or bc i forget to eat lunch so my dinner is half a pizza (and my kids slices)

*sigh*

Oh and i am busy dealing with shut the front door. You can ask me what that means and ill tell you.

And i sometimes leave messages on my husbands phone like 'you owe me huge' and 'im not lifting a finger this weekend' 

Perhaps i am busy staring at the ceiling after i fiiiiinally get bridget to bed after her game playing. Yes- i lock her in.

And busy making to do lists and checking them twice.

And busy figuring out how to buy a new car since now my back door handle is broken, my key clicker thing doesnt work, and it has 116,000 miles on it.

So yeah. Busy. I sound like a wreck. I am kind of.

But dont worry- my bathrooms are clean. Come on over. You wont find grime on my toliet seat. And i caught up on the horrifying real housewives on beverly hills. scary ladies. I cringe how women are. But maybe i need to practice wicker. Hmmmm

Oh wait- this post was called black friday. I was in a tangent. So i should talk about thanksgiving- and i will but enjoy a few pics of two of my favs and i having a silly good time on black friday (dont worry we enjoyed family time first and did not swarm the min the shops open bc i am auper against 5pm openings)

Nora insisted on wearing the same pjs as bridge. I feel like they are looking so old! Ah! Oh and i seashelled their hair. It was my signature style for all the little girls i babysat for back in the day (which were only a few since i babysat mostly boys!) but those girls rocked the seashell so lindsey 2.0 busted a move this evening. 

Ps- i dont know why the blog is posting pics this way! Annooooying. Whatev. Too much else to deal with than moving pics around. :) deal. (Tho i admit it bugs me)

Postponing it

I rarely miss lessons, classes, meetings etc that i commit to (and pay for) but it's thanksgiving week- and bridget was napping (thankful for that) and bean and i were hanging out coloring and i had no desire to quickly change the mood and shlep the kids to nora's swim lesson. So we didnt. We stayed. We played and cuddled instead. And though i still feel a tinge guilty- i seized the moment so here we are not running running like mad.
