Chubbies

How could a couple of chunky Halloween figures not make you smile?

I love Halloween and decoration season! One step closer to xmas decor, baby.

More impromptu plans

It was the week for impromptu dinner plans. Thursday we had a last minute pizza party at Miss Amanda's house! Woot! B is across the street at liz's during the day, so I stayed in the hood to hang. The kids (and adults) all get along so well. At one point a dance party began and it got a little whacky. B was turning somersaults, and it was general gleefulness. And the Nora's had fun playing Strawberry Shortcake for HOURS!!! Seriously. Cute.

Impromptu Dinner Out

The girls and I went to the gym this afternoon, and since we were so close to P's work- we met him for dinner. Hey! Whenever I suggest a dinner out I have no problem convincing him. P would eat out every meal everyday.

Anyway, It happened to be kids's night at Red Robin, so we just cut loose BIG time. It was off the chain. Red Robin himself was there, a balloonist, free kids shakes (that I ate). I was all like- woot! Amazeballs.

But for reals it was fun times. Sometimes it is just the little things. Like an Arial and Elmo balloon and some DIY seasoned fries. Yay spontaneousness!

Been Busy

This week has been surprisingly busy. Very surprisingly, in fact. But I have two project assignments and work, so yeah. I'll leave you with two things:

The kids hugging (kind of) and my finished Fall wreath. oh so crafty pants.

Drawing People

It's Nora's new skill. And she practices it everyday. It's really fun to see her adding hair, teeth, etc. to her 'guys'

Some of her creations:

A Visit with the Shafers

We were so excited to hang out with Oakley and Ashley today at their new house! We had a blast- and a great convo about the Dave Ramsey Finance plan. Our church is offering the course and we are considering it. We may be on our way to hardcore, but we shall see.

Anyway- Ashley is with child and is due in a few weeks!!! Yay! Everyone got along great and it was a fun time. We were busy chatting so much, i almost forgot to take some pics. At one point all the kids ended up in the bathroom with another quick lesson on anatomy and standing vs sitting while taking a number one vs a number two. Ooooh 3-year-olds.

Anyway- pants never ended back on O after that- it's just more comfortable. But Ashley was cool with me posting pics. She said 'well it's real life." ;)

Low-key Days

They are rare. But when we are unscheduled it is kind of nice. I could not be like this all the time, that I know, but a day or two here and there is A-ok.

Bike ride and park yesterday, a long nap for Bridge, and chores for me.

Seriously the best present ever

Like- how are her legs getting soooo long! My baby continues to morph to a toddler as the morphing order continues...

Library time with Bridge and preschool for Nora, working for me today. After work we ran a couple of errands and Nora had a meltdown in a store. When I worked at the mall I witnessed plenty of kid and mom meltdowns. Moms yanking kids arms and asking if they want a spanking, (why yes mommy please spank me. Let me bend over) or moms pushing strollers around looking dazed, and kids throwing themselves on the floor. Good times. I felt for them then, (sometimes judged- let's be honest) but I  really get it now that I am home more. Moms give so much energy to the littles, that sometimes an act of acting bad in public can send a mom spiraling out of control.
It's like- "For serious, I have to get out of this house before I go insane, so I took you to the mall and you rode the train and played in the tree house and now I want to eat lunch in the food court so sit here and eat your freaking food and let me breathe and pretend I am a real adult sitting down at a table to eat my food for 2 secondssssssssss!!!!!!!"

Thankfully, I did not yank or scream, but did say to someone who starred, 'sorry, no nap today.' like I had to present a reason to this stranger other than, 'she's three. Sometimes this crap happens.' anyway- after that we stopped at a park and enjoyed the weather. The girls were funny together.

I love my Bridget mornings. Special one on one time with only one is awesome.

Because playing under a table with stickers on your nose rocks.
So that store Nora was freaking at? It was Hobby Lobby, which is even more comical. Me, screamer, and the crafties.  I wanted to get my wreathing on (why? because I don't have enough going on? because I love fall and decided a little fall wreath action needed to occur on my front door? I have no answers for you) all I know is I took the packaging off wrong, and then wrapped in in foil, and there was hay all over my floor and I was all- what the H- why do I go to Hobby Lobby. I proceeded to wrap it in Saran Wrap and packing tape. I'll show you the finished product whenever that happens..

Well- now they are in bed and I'm happy, and I'm doing homework. And I put about four turns of yarn around the dang wreath. Yay for a couple quiet days. But they need to get loud again. So tomorrow it's a play date with Oakley and Ashley at their new digs. Nora said 'we haven't been to their house in a long while.' and she's right. So we are excited.

PS- I can't fix the extra spaces, and because I excel in not caring about such flaws in my personal life, I shall not care.

Weekend Review

Fun times this weekend! Here's the recap:

We started out Friday rocking to the Today Show's Friday Concert on the Plaza- PSY was on, and I couldn't resist blasting a little Gangman Style and busting out the famous dance moves.

Here is the link to the clip and song if you want to culture yourself. I do try to incorporate a little Itsy Bitsy Spider every now and again, though my kids are not growing up listening to Raffi... hmm... http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/26184891/vp/49058859#49031539

KK Skyped us right before the maddness, so she busted out some moves, too.

Bridgey was not having it at first (she was mad about moving to the kitchen after Skyping with KK)

She got into it eventually.

That night Bridge had gymnastics and then we got a sitter and met up with some friends for din. There was almost a babysitter day/date mix-up, but luckily our sitter lives next door (we may never move) so it all worked out. No pics of the dinner because it was all adults and the picture thing gets lost when childrens are not around to capture.

Then Saturday we celebrated Avery's second birthday at Deanna Rose. Happy, Happy to Avery! We love the good ol' DR.

Avery, Bridge and Nora- trying to capture three kids smiling all at once :)

Goat feeding!

Jenni and I had to get in on the heads in a flower action.

Hey Girl.
The girls have been playing sooooooo well together lately, and I just love watching their interaction.  Even if it's when Nora markers up her sister (P was in charge...)

Playing Doctor- Nora was way into it all weekend.

Decorating for Fall together

We ended the weekend with church and a visit from Uncle Kerry. Such a lovely, suburban with kids weekend.
