We have (had) two fish. Goldfish. From an Elmo themed birthday party (it was the parting gift. Channel Elmo's friend Dorothy the goldfish) Great party- and it turned out to be a great gift. My girls looooove feeding and looking at the fish (esp. bridge) she pointed at the fish and said 'That' and so he was named 'That'
And the other day, he swam his last swim. Harassed his fishmate, Nobia, one last time. Circled the tank one last time. Ate fish food, you guessed it, one last time.
He was loved. He had a proper flushing and we explained heaven to the girls.
Bye, That. Rest in peace.

Holding hands
Holding hands as a kid symbolizes friendship and belonging. It means protection and togetherness. Plus it's plain sweet.
In the car, at the gym, at chick-fil-a.
Miss Amanda started a 'no boys allowed' club of us and all our girlies. Until someone gets preg with a boy! Girl Power it is.

Hil. Ar.
This is right on and completely hilarious. I was going to blog how I feel like I am a broken record (and sound like my mom? I get it now, mom, I get it. I hope that satisfies you) with the don't do that, arms off the table, eat one more bite of peas, go to time out right now, let's go, let's go, let's go- ness of life. However, right now rather than rant about it- let's all go watch this rap instead. mmmmmmmkay?

Bedtime
Bedtime. For Bridget, who is a strong-willed, stubborn etc. little thang, bedtime used to mean screaming while changing her diaper, getting on pajamas- and bedtime stories? Forget holding still long enough to read a sentence! But now that she is calmer, the bedtime routine has become a pleasant experience. Phew. TYJ!
I am really glad I waited to start blogging, because if I had started last year it would have been a very negative blog. Honest- but negative. Looking back, I can see that I had a bout of the 'baby blues' Plus we kind of moved, had a newborn, started to potty train Nora, I was in job transition and I knew only a few people here and moved from my sister and grandparents, great neighbors and friends. Plus we were trying to sell a house (more on that later) - it was disaster. So I decided to give myself a break on my feelings from last year.
Anyway- on that note-Bridget is pleasanter now. And bedtime and sleeping is too. She picks out books (Sandra Boynton's Pajama Time is her fav. She will dig through to find it)
What's goin on here? |
The girls gather pillows and blankets and Daddy reads to them. |
Bridget can't still THAT still- she needs to be fully part of the action |

Today Show Tears
Seriously? This show...
Two tear jerkers today on Today. The first was a woman who was driving and her accelerator got stuck and she was swerving cars and trucks driving up to 119 mph thinking she was going to hit something and die. She got a police escort and eventually applied some combination of the brake and accelerator to stop.
She never hit anything and is totally fine.
See the full story below:
http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/48811828/ns/today-today_news/t/driver-runaway-suv-i-thought-was-it/
The tear jerker part was when she said she had a little hanging charm thing on her rear view mirror that said "never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly." For real? That was hanging on her mirror? First- I like that saying- and second, whoa.
The second- this one. http://todayhealth.today.com/_news/2012/08/28/13525371-team-maddy-dad-competes-in-triathlons-with-severely-disabled-daughter?lite
The family runs triathlons with their disabled daughter. OMG.
Morning tears. No- I am not pregnant. Remember, this is called Totally Two-bular for a reason!

Targ
To follow-up with my coupon blog- I thought I would add my success of the day:
Woo. Saved $33.84 |
Oh and this is how Nora shopped with us at Target. Instantly fell asleep in her car seat and then I transferred her to the cart. This is not the first time we have shopped with her in this state. |
Sisters
I love that Nora is getting more and more interactive with Bridge. Sometimes the interactions are little tiffs- but other times they are super sweet and loving. And apparently sometimes this happens:
Oh siiiiiiiiiiiiiisters. The adventures to come. (Put it in the bag bump bump?) Sharing a toliet (don't ask)
Two girls- love!!!

Ladies and Gentleman
Bean Pod made up this game where she goes behind a curtain and then I loudly say "Ladies and Gentleman. I would like to introduce the most amazing, funniest, sweetest girl in the whole laaaaaaaaaaand...BEAN POD!" and she bursts out from the curtain and does a jig. She could do this for hours. I change up the lines and laugh hysterically. The apple does not fall far from the tree on this one. She may look like Patrick-but yeah. She makes me smile.
Waiting for the big show to begin! |
Great show, sis. |
It's Suuuuuuuuuuuunday
And you know what that means! Church? Sometimes. Zumba? Probably. The new work/study combo pack? Well now that's a yes, buuuuuuuut- what Sunday REALLY is all about these days is COUPON INSERTS!
Okay- so I am not the worlds most greatest expert on couponing. Remember I am a jack of many things (not going to say ALL) but not a tremendous expert. I'm definitely not an extreme couponer- but I am getting into it and would love to know what you couponers do- and I'll share how I have been doing it. I am somewhat new to the force- so you can too join the madness. Here goes:
Step One: Buy a paper. Or two.
Step Two: Get a Binder. Organize by date of the inserts. I label each clear plastic thing with a sticky note of the date the insert came out.
Step Three: This is what I have been doing. I basically just shop at Target. Here's why~ At Target, you can use one Target coupon (known as a TQ in the coupon blogger sphere) and one manufacturer coupon per item. So that's two coupons for one item. (1+1=2. Woo.Go me with math skills) Also- Target often has $5 gift card deals with certain purchases. Plus it just keeps it easy to stick to one store. And there is a kick butt website called
www.totallytarget.com
This woman rocks. She updates her site several times a day and lets you know what deals they have, what match ups (using the TQ and MQ's together) and what items have the gift card deal attached and where you can find coupons for those items. Sometimes the items are even MM's (money makers) She will tell you where to find coupons, and give you links to any online ones for the item she is discussing. There is some coupon lingo you will learn, but it's pretty easy to pick up. This is why you have the binder organized by insert date since this is how the bloggers talk about where to find the coupons. Okay so back to what I've been doing.
Step 4: Check the blog a few times a day. Cut/print coupons for the items you are interested in. DON'T GO SCISSOR HAPPY: you need to be careful not to just buy something because you have a coupon for it. Think about the things you use/eat- think about stocking up but only for about 3 months worth. Don't go crazy with 250 deodorants and a weird stockpile in your basement of aspirin and eye drops.
Step 5: Make a list as you print/cut and put coupons for your week trip in a special envelope. Make your list SUPER specific with the amount you need to buy and the exact name of the product so you grab the right thing on your shopping trip.
Add other items you need to your list and then go to a coupon database and search for these products to see if there is a coupon somewhere that matches the other things you need. I like:

Step 6: Open a Target Red Card. It does not have to be a credit card, it can link to you bank account/be a debit card. You will save 5% on your purchases, get extra coupons printed at the register (Catalinas) and be one cool cat.
Also- fill prescriptions at Target. You will get special coupons mailed to you by snail mail, and get on lists that you can't register for. Or get your kids pictures taken- stuff like that. Eat, sleep and breathe Target and you shall receive.
Register for mobile coupons. (they come once a week to your phone) you can do that at:
Step 7: Buy stuff that has the $5 gift card offer attached. I am saving my $5 gift cards and will use them at Christmas. It's kind of a sickness. So far I have $120 in free gift cards I got just for buying stuff I use/need. I try to buy one grouping of items a week with the $5 attached. You can use them right then and there and get $5 off your total purchase if you so desire as well.
Step 8: Go shopping at night when it is less crowded (if you have a lot of coupons) I also like to tell anyone that gets in line that I may be a pain in the butt because I have a lot of coupons. Ignore anyone who sighs deeply or rolls their eyes. Soon you will have people asking you how you got your coupons.
Step 9: Give the cashier your coupons one at a time and make sure each one goes through. I know, I know- but trust me. The registers are weird, and anyway it's easier one at a time. NOTE: the P&G coupons ding a lot. You may have to physically prove you got the right item.
Step 10: Check your receipt to make sure they didn't double charge you on an item you only bought one of. This has been happening lately for some reason.
Step 11: Smile and look at your receipt at how much you saved.
Step 12: Take advantage of any save your receipt and get more coupon deals or MIRs.
Let me know if you have any tips! Happy couponing. :)

Bean Falls Asleep
Bean Bean. She's in that stage of dropping her nap completely and yeah. Fun times. She's crank by 4:30, and if she doesn't randomly fall asleep at this hour, look out. She makes a mama cray and it can get a bit nutty round our neck of the woods. But when her little 3-year-old bod decides it needs to rest and she just falls asleep doing whatever (eating is the funniest) it's pretty fun times.
Some pics of the Beanmister passing out:
Just because it's cute. |
